Changelog April 14, 2026
By FlattedFifth

Bug Fixes
-A code error was found that made spells that were clearly intended not to harm party members harm party members anyway. Now spells register possible targets in one of three ways:
Allies = Yourself and your party.
Non-Allies: PCs who are not in your party, and NPCs who are Hostile (neutral pcs default to non allied, neutral npcs default to “allies”)
Enemies = pcs and npcs who are actively hostile

Epic Spell Changes:
-All epic spells (except the 2 Psion ones) are available to all classes and can be selected on a level up of any class, even a non-spellcasting class, so long as you meet the requirements. As SwordSaint Katherine pointed out, you don’t just forget that you’re a mage with 9th level spells and 27 spellcraft just because you happen to be leveling up as a barbarian this level). All spellcraft requirements remain unchanged, and you still must have 9th level spells or 9d6 Eldritch Blast but are otherwise open to all.

-Epic Spells now benefit from DC increases from Spell Focus and Practiced Spellcaster feats (they were already benefiting from Spellcasting Prodigy feat)

-For a more generalized feel, the following Epic spells have had a name change:
Epic Mage Armor is now Epic Bulwark
Epic Foresight is now Glean the Future
Epic Gate is now From Beyond the Veil
(thanks to SwordSaint Katherine for the names and the all access idea)

-Greater Ruin damage is now 75d12 positive energy damage vs PCs and NPCs alike. Constructs, Elementals, Plants, Spirits, and Undead take 1.5 times the damage. NPCs who make a Fortitude save (+5 DC) take half damage. PCs who make their Fortitude save take no damage.

Documentation updates
Numerous spells that were designed to only affect non-allies but did not say so in their in-game descriptions now say so.
