Garen enters Thornbrew office as he would most any time he required official guidance or signatures. This time, however, he comes empty handed. He closed the door and spoke calmly.

"Chief, I am in the process of moderating communications and actions between the Fraternity and the other Triad members. This is about the recent threat to the city by creatures of the Far realm. Several times during my discussions, investigations and correspondence, it has been asked why the Fraternity was in the Prison discussing issues with a captive without Harmonium involvement. I have been led to believe that our involvement was via yourself.

In order to ensure protocols between the factions remain successful, I need information to share with our counterparts in the other Factions that would help clear up this confusion."

Normally Thornbrew's Duodrone aide keeps track of his appointments and carefully monitors who is allowed to see the Bureau Chief. Today though it seems utterly at a loss its desk
in a state of total disarray. Such is its state of panic it is a simple matter for Garen to slip past, knock and head inside.

"Seph?"

It is odd Thawnbrew makes it a point of pride to call all of his Bureau by their first names from Aides to senior Administrators.

"I was at the prison to over see a prisoner being transferred to Harmonium custody."

Garen finds it hard to see in the office it is dark. This might strike him as odd too. Thornbrew wears glasses he sees badly in the light the dark would not help.

"Factol Nilesia however raised concerns that in transferring the prisoner we risked exposing more people to possession. So I authorized its detention by the Mercykillers."

It takes him a few seconds to answer almost as if he had to concentrate to remember.

"What ails you, Chief? It is not like you to be so distracted. Did something occur to cause you so much distraction? Haskar needs us at our best during these times. What is it I can do to help you?"

There is a long pause and Thornbrew opens his desk drawer.

"Something grave has happened. I believe The Foundry has been compromised. They distributed this two the factions."

He shows Garen a letter from his desk. Garen's eyes struggle in the dark where as Thawnbrew who is of comparative age to him seems to be able to read perfectly fine.

The invaders seems to be fairly resistant to most elemental energies, cold seemed to work against a few of them though. Divine energy was fully effective so I'd strongly advise using weapons imbued with pure raw divine energy as I'm not certain blessed weapons might actually be effective.

But most importantly, the invaders are weak against an old evocation spell known to most spell-casters, including Paladins and Rangers called the Invocation of the Cerulean Sign, that works effectively against any kind of aberrations. While the sign can't kill them, it allows to partially daze and push them back and also helps in the detection of potential possessed people. We haven't found a way to push them away from a possessed person without killing him or her.

For now, I strongly recommend the use of the sign and with a conjunction of weapons encanted to be effective against aberrations.
"There is no way they could have such knowledge I believe that this is a deliberate attempt to spread misinformation, and the work they conduct their us to help the invaders not hinder them. We need to shut this down. Perhaps you are the man for the job Seph?"

Again his manner just seems slightly off.

He takes the note, struggling to read it

"I will look into it"

He then quietly excuses himself and leaves Thornbrew alone.

He heads back to his office and pens a quick note.

I write you this to inform you that your I believe you fears about Thornbrew are, indeed, fact. Please, as soon as you are possibly able, send to me all information, in writing, on why you initially thought this and any proof you have. Once it arrives, hopefully soon after you receive this, I'll take the matter to the other Bureau Chiefs.

Garen
He then seals it with wax and takes it to Rain

"Take this to Justicar Charae immediately. Ensure it reaches her directly. It is not to be handed to another... on my orders"

He then sits in his office and busies himself as he waits.

Rain takes the letter as he gathers his traveling gear rather than his normal set of Fraternity clothes. Fully dressed as if he is planes walking he visits the prison signing in, requesting to meet with Justicar Charae.

He patiently waits until she arrives. In the meanwhile, he carefully observes the the area.

Rain would be taken to Justicar Charae's office, where he would find her sitting at her desk and looking over a few reports and documents. When he entered, the dark elf closed the folder in front of her and greeted the aide.

"Yes? Is there something I can do for you, dear?"

(To save time)

Once Rain gave Charae the note, she would pen the response.

I was hoping I was incorrect. I would rather hand you the information in person. We can meet at the usual spot.

Garen would arrive at approximately the same time they last met. He would be as calm and polite as he always was. He would greet Charae with a warm smile. After pleasantries were exchanged he would get to business.

“It is as you feared, Justicar. I am of the opinion that Thornbrew has, indeed, come to be possessed by one of the Far Realm creatures. I am going to approach the other Bureau Chiefs but need to ensure I have enough proof… or at the very least enough circumstantial evidence, for them to take action.

I trust you have what I requested?”

Charae slid Garen a sealed document that would contain the written report of everything that had transpired in the Prison, the dwarf prisoner's description of the events, and a copy of the visitor's log that showed Thronbrew having visited the Prison.

"I imagine your process will take time. Factor Swan's Son is going through the proper channels as well, as he too is aware of my suspicion. With your help, I am sure his efforts will go along much swifter and with less collateral."

\\If you want me to PM you the report in writing, let me know.
