"I guarantee, Tophat, you go in thereÂ… youÂ’ll be up to your knees in blood. You think theyÂ’re just going to step aside and let you leave once youÂ’ve broken the sanctity of their stronghold?

Not bloody likely.

I suggest you walk away from this one because whether itÂ’s inside or outÂ… people are going to die. When IÂ’m in there IÂ’m not about to give myself up to their executioners. IÂ’ll be fighting my way out with my target in towÂ… and any other prisoners who fight alongside me.

Anyone with me will be doing the sameÂ… or will simply await the chopping block if they surrender.

I often donÂ’t get the chance to get inside a place like that soÂ… IÂ’ll do as much as I can while IÂ’m there. That place is gonna burn a bit...

SoÂ…If you're not interested... thereÂ’s the door. Maybe next time."

He looks to Dakkon

"I'll have your explosives...."

"Then I'm out. Sorry....I won't have blood on my hands. Good day."

The changeling promptly leaves.

A letter to his superiors- as usual his words are blunt, his style not very refined:
wrote: Sirs and Ladies,

I am concerned about the security of both the prison and my fellow Mercykillers.
Too many ressources are put into a single spot and are too eays to be taken out as well as leaving gaps in our ranks elsewhere.

Perhaps you will find the following suggestions useful:

First:

Abandon the Debtor's Prison. It never served Justice, only the Taker's greed. They shall guard the inmates themselves.

Second:

Execute the woman right away. She is too dangerous to be left alive.
If a public spectacle is needed for educational purposes ( I advice against it as it will only lead to strife) we can use an illusion or perhaps a double. How about polymorphing the Mercykiller who tried to act without orders?

Third:

To improve security around the inmate I suggest the use of  a Binding or Imprisonment spell.

If this is not possible I suggest the assignment of guards with different strenghts and weaknesses- like an Undead, a Fiend, an Angel and a Mortal.

Illusions can be used to create 'guards' as well as to create a few fakes of the target person as well as to alter the overall appearence of corridors and cells.

Stoneshape and Walls Of Stone can be used to strenghten possible weak spots.

Signed:

Julius Ahestes, Namer.

I've no problem with that... so long as you limit your bloodlust to the Mercykillers and Haqrmonium... bystanders and others are to be left alone...

Rith sighs as he leaves.

"Bloodshed will only begot more bloodshed. The cycle will never end if we don't make it end."

At which point, the changelings features would become more sinister. His voice would become dark, and menacing.

"Poor poor boy. Do you truly believe yourself so innocent? Pornographer, lecher, thief...Do you truly believe that murder is that far beyond you?"

Rith would grab his head. "Shut up, dammit! I'm not you! I'm not a murderer!"

"Perhaps not...yet. But there are times, young Rith, that blood must be spilled to achieve one's goals. I have had to spill my fair share. Or do you forget that I killed the Godsmen Factotum so that you and your allies would be free of him?"

"LEAVE ME ALONE!!"

"You know that I don't want you to be this way. A killer. A murderer. But look back upon your past. The things you've stolen. The lives you've ruined. The wives and the whores that you have bed for your own lustful desires. You are more like me than you would ever care to mention, my son. And that is precisely why I am able to influence you as I can. I think you should help the Anarchs, boy. Spill a little blood in their name, and for their cause. It might just make a man out of you...." the diabolical voice echoed. Rith merely fell to his knees.

"Do you not remember the beatings they gave you? The indignities you were made to suffer? Forced to shapeshift for their amusement. Forced to live like an animal in their cage because you had the audacity to tell one of them that they were wrong for beating upon an innocent woman. This, my son, is a chance for VENGEANCE.

The Changeling's eyes would flicker red for just a moment.

"You....you're right....my god, I can't believe I say this...but you're right."

With that, the Changeling walks his way back into the Anarch base. He looks Phoenix in the eye, and with a look upon his face that is an admixture of anger, hatred....and perhaps excitement, he carefully utters the words:

"I'm in...."

*Phoenix would smile behind the mask as he heard the words*

"Good...

...So... let's work out the fine details shall we?"

As dusk falls on the prison so does silence. All that can be heard from the yard is the scrape scrape scrape of stone on metal. Jentia stands her blade in one hand and a whet stone in the other. The holy avenger glimmers in her hand as the dim dying light catches the edge. Jentia reflects on the eerie silence, the calm before the coming storm. Like everyone else in the prison she had heard the rumors. That she might have to die to stop the anarchists from freeing a murderer did not trouble. Nor did the idea of the execution, the memories of the victims and their families demanded no less as justice.

Her gaze fell upon the debtors wing and a bitter smile crossed her lips, she had heard the rumors of explosives heard that the Anarchs planned to destroy it. She should be pleased, she hated the place. She had wanted to tear it down herself what went on there wasn't just. Was she ready to die to defend it?

As she so often did when her vows to the Red death conflicted with her vows as a paladin she retreated to silent solitary reflection. What the Takers did there was not just, she had felt dirty when she had been forced to travel with the collectors and pleased when their own excesses had allowed her to bring them to justice. The debtors ring should be destroyed. Not this way though. Its destruction would be the first step on a slippery slope to chaos. The destruction of law and order and everything that is good and noble which they supported and protected. Not to mention the poor sods locked in there. She didn't believe they deserved their current fate, they certainly didn't deserve to die in there. No there was a way to deal with the takers just as she had dealt with the thugs she had been sent to patrol with. The correct way through the law.

She finished sharpening her blade and silently slid it into her scabbard.

She uttered a silent prayer of thanks to Heironeous for the clarity she had been granted and walked back to her post. Yes the debtors wing and those inside of it was something she was willingly to risk her life for.

*Penance, while not willing to lend a hand in the gate assault, will grab a vantage point from the rooftops and watch it unfold.*
