The Shaper had in many ways become a notorious figure for bedtime stories for the orphans, now virtually second only to The Lady of Pain herself.
People spoke of an invisible shadow walking in the darkest recesses of Sigil's Hive Ward. There was talk of a particular sect aswell.
The Prolongers.
Chant on the street was that these Prolongers were for the first time in their Sect's history, activly seeking new Cheaters to join the ranks. This was an unsual move for The Prolongers, as their Sect was generally very small and often seclusive from the public acts of Sigil's affairs.
Some cutters dared to say The Prolongers were trying to become a new faction in the Faction War. But everyone knew clearly The Lady of Pain had long decree'd time ago that there may only be a limit to the number of "factions" considered actual groups in the ranks.
However... that wasnt to say a Sect couldnt "try" to knock off a weaker faction.
There was further chant that near The Shattered Temple, home of The Athar, now brimming with quite the amount of company. A number of Prolongers had been spotted quite welcome and accepted into the inner sanctums.
Further more, the biggest chant neither prooved right or wrong, was the gossip that The Shaper was far from gone from Sigil's hair. There was chant that a lone shadow walked through the city of doors every dark hour. Though it was entirley unsure what their presense was and if they were infact "The Shaper" it was known they had a striking resemblance to the description of the berk that dressed himself in the apparel.
Harmonium guards doubled their efforts to find out how true this rumor was. After all, if this Shaper was the genuine deal, they would now spend alot of their resorces and time towards finding ways to capture the criminal who commited unspeakable crimes against the city.
In the meanwhile... there was another quake.
This time it took place in the Ladies ward. A sharp rumbling unhinged the walls of a mansion that had been built for a local Guvner Factotum. The walls had capsized with the poor berk still inside. Thus, when the building was finally tended to, the Harmonium investigators only found the crushed remains of a Human Male.
The Mercykillers were also becomming extremely boxed in. After the humiliation with their involvement with The Shaper, they had become very hesitant to speak of anything outside their own organisation, for a while at least. Something had got them unnerved however, and that was extremely rare, even for Red Death.
Even Factol Alisohn herself could be seen with at least five or six more guards than usual when ever she patrolled the city. Her eyes were far more shifty than before and it wasnt Anarchist assasins she was paniced about... no...
...It was something else.
