A Dark Killing

In a quiet sidestreet of the hive ward, near to the wreck of a burned out house, long since left to moulder and rot, a body can be seen seemingly propped standing against the charred remains of the wooden front door post.

On cursory glance, should passer-by decide to stop and look over, the following can be determined:

The body is that of a dark elf.
The body is female, ebony skin, white long hair, crimson eyes that still remain open.
The body has been pierced by an arrow through the neck and pins the body to the door post.
The body is not moving, likely dead.

A closer inspection should a passer-by decide to approach nearer would reveal more.

A figure stalks towards the body, dragging the shadows with her. She looks over the scene with an odd fascination, what another victim of Sigil! With a few quiet spells, she activates both Read and Detect magic.

Lalette is careful to not disturb the scene during her examination, nor leave tracks.

She is interested in a few things-

*What is the make of the arrow? Mundane, mastercraft, magical, or has an aura.
*Age, notable physical changes(Callouses, scars and the like) and equipment quality of the victim.
*Did the victim fight?
*Time of death

Once those things have a guess, she may move on to retrieving the corpse and reviving the person for a closer inspection.

A magical and closer inspection would reveal the following:

The drow is obviously dead. No breathing, blood on the neck has begun to thicken and congeal, suggesting time of death some 2-3 hours prior to discovery.
The arrow seems to have pierced an artery, there is alot of blood. The victim likely bled to death slowly.
The neck of the body appears wet both from blood and water.
The arrow is angled some 45 degrees downwards through the neck, arrow head and afew inches of the shaft are stuck fast into the door post.
The fletched end of the arrow where it protrudes from the neck is partially broken, snapped and dangling from its shaft.
The arrow is magical, traces of electrical energy would be detected.
The age of the victim could be ascertained to be in the region of a couple of centuries.
There are a few nicks and scars of old visible to the onlooker but nothing new or obvious from the scene bar the arrow through the neck.
The victim bears a pair of simple rapiers to its waist, not drawn, suggesting an adventurer of sorts. Her clothes are of fashionable make.
There does not appear to have been a struggle, other than the victims own hands are bloody, suggesting failed attempt to pull arrow out prior to death.

"Still fresh," Lalette muttered in elvish. "No attempt at self defense, a lucky slayer at that. The arrow..."

She couldn't help but wince while looking at the doorframe. 'The bow that did this was of good make, but why waste an enchanted arrow on a sure kill? A single enchanted arrow was worth a few dozen jink at a vendor, unless...' Lalette finally dared to tap the arrow. 'Conjured arrows are oft brought into being from a mighty bow, and whoever killed this Drow deserved some respect. Am I jealous?'

'This leaves a problem. If they're a hunter, a corpse left here- easy to find and interrogate, the result for them would be rather horrible. Alternatively,' She brought out a wand of invisibility, using it to hide herself further. 'there's a new murderer- I can't take the risk for my pet's sake. And the harmonium would just botch this- like they did with my assaulter.'
~

The invisible elf leans forward, bag of holding in hand. Her goal is simple, shove the body and it's possessions away as quickly as possible. She would make an attempt to retrieve the arrowhead as well, but it is second to getting away unimpeded.

If Lalette's task isn't interrupted, she would slip into shadows leaving no tracks.

(Won't have computer access for about ten hours, if someone wants to interrupt Lalette... )

Any inspection later at the scene or into the bag of holding would find that both the arrow head stuck into the door post and the broken wooden fletched end that still lies through the victim's neck have now vanished, lending correct the deduction that the arrow was indeed a conjured one from an enchanted bow.

All that remains at the scene now are blood spots against the doorway and ground and a deep notch where the arrow had stuck. Only the body and its possessions remain in the holding bag into which it was placed.
