Its About Sending A Message

*A grim chant begins to spread throughout the city of Sigil, though especially the Hive: It seems the Shaper and his cultists have poked the wrong hornet's nest. Known Shaper cultists have begun to find themselves subject to repeated assaults in alleys and street corners all over Sigil. A few broken bones and ruffled feathers, however, seem to be the least of their concerns.

A few scattered whispers which seem to spread from the city's darkmongers speak of Shaper believers dissapearing in the night, and screams echoing through Undersigil that keep even the most fearless gnoll brigand from showing its ugly mug. Bodies are left to rot or be devoured by the denizens of Undersigil; horribly mutilated and obviously tormented beyond the comprehension of even some of the most hardened veterans of Sigil's ugly existence...even a drow might recognize a masterful expression of cruel precision at work.

The message is painfully clear even to the most oblivious cutter: Followers of the Shaper: Beware.*

Two nights later in the celebrating House of Sixfingers, life was brimming as ever.

The laughter of patrons filled the air and the banter was full, the tavern had never been more popular.

But now things had become a personal matter, for Maelfina Sixfingers, this would be the last night she knew happiness, and perhaps the first she truley felt a sense of hatred.

In her absense, the tavern was attacked, an explosion ripped the door open as the two bouncers were sent flying from its frame.

The shock caused the patrons to scream in horror as something emerged. Monsterous armoured figures that would appear as normal humanoids yet somewhat enlarged and embolded with dark powers smashed open the tavern and began ravaging everyone, alongside Assassins.

But most of all was the tyrany of the Retreivers. The Shadowsworn collected any female that Maelfina had earlier stolen, only a few managed to escape and hide from the horror of the attack.

When it was over, the tavern was never the same.

The bouncers dead, the majority of girls missing. The patrons laying strung around in various grotesque manners as symbols of horror for its returning house mistress.

Maelfina would be left with an equally clear message, one that defied any sense of her actions...

This might yet be a spark to which a fire within might not have been seen before. A flame of vengance.

((uh, couple of notes here: The doors, as has been noted many times, hare reinforced with solid iron, and the entire building is warded heavily, especially against fire, making a bomb nearly completely ineffective. [Edit: sorry, to be more specific, if you look at half the RP previous in the thread, you'd note that she SPECIFICALLY designed the place to withstand heavy bombing] The bouncers have been trained for many months by Mael herself and are thus not completely incompetent at combat, which the shadowsworn have kinda shown themselves to be. Thirdly, there is literally no indication of the actions of previous evenings having been Mael at all. The Shaper's weapon would have been in her bag of holding, given that she has no use for it, and the dark would give no indication as to the identity of the person assailing the individuals. Thus far, the Shaper has not been Omniscient.
[Edit Again: Aren't the Harmonium on high alert in the Hive at the moment? I'd like to hear an argument besides "they're incompetent" to explain why they wouldn't immediately respond to an attempted bombing (as the bomb wouldn't work) which would be visible from a fair distance]
[Edit to the above]: Especially if they actually succeeded in the bombing, which they wouldn't, and were carrying off crowds of people in skimmers or something of the sort))

The Harmonium appear to the scene to chase off the assaillants and take down few of them to save a single female customer, but alas too late, the damage was done. Granted the Harmonium presence in the Hive Ward had never been the strongest, they got here at all due to the recent war at Hive Ward put to hold. Those that could be treated were, but some could not be.

Reports say the surviving female customer is however still in coma and in protective custody, no visitors are allowed, save relatives and even then in surveillance.

A single group of four Harmonium members is left at the remnants of the inn to keep an eye out for few days.


Harmoniums official report to public is:
Hive is too large to keep an eye out in every location. However it appears that this was not the action of Anarchists nor Mercykillers, obviously. It is yet uncertain why the inn was assaulted, but it seems to have been work of professionals. They appeared to take out their own fallen and capture females of the inn. The few assaillants that the Harmonium managed to take down before they fled has been taken to the Barracks for identifying them.

While not the bright side of news, it seems like the normal life of Hive still continues despite the previous war... unfortunately, the way of life in Hive is not always pretty.

We'll welcome eye witness reports and further information regarding this incidence.

*As the damage was limited to the customers and the public areas, the sensory stones in place in various hidden nooks in the ceiling, and their master stone in its hidden room connected to Mael's chambers, remain unharmed. Thus allowing Mael to receive a full recording from multiple angles of exactly what transpired in her absence and how.*

Maelfina directs the Sensates personally around the building, pointing out particular locations for the various devices, ensuring they are located in sections of the room for maximized discretion and utility. The main activator is placed in a small room off to the side of her private chambers, whose doorway is conspicuously missing a door and seems marked for further work.

Johnnie, having just returned from a hunt in the abyss, was none too amused. He stormed into the damaged tavern and moved throughout looking for his boss. Had anyone stood in his path he would simply toss them aside (being a very large and strong Ogre). He growled in a low tone and took up position in front of the main door. One "two-handed" blade in each hand creating a large "X" in front of him and the entry. Unless they get the okay from" Boss Lady Mael" they ain't getting in. No one, no how...

*Immediately following the devastation, all units of Mael's guard force were pulled back from their activities helping the Godsmen and Athar to defend the remains of her business. Those few lasses and lads who'd been out on errands or working the forges of the Foundry are also immediately recalled to help with repairs. It's unclear exactly what the future has in store for the enterprise or its owner...or what her plans are to respond to this obvious provocation.*

Chari finally arrives at the scene after reading a report of the damage. After getting briefed she quickly begins asking nearby persons and businesses for any kind of description of the assailants. Who, what, when, and where are some of the questions asked among many.

She also asks her superiors if it's possible to include Maelfina's establishment within the regular patrols. She muses to herself who she believes is responsible, but her first priority is the recovery of those that have been kidnapped.
