I was wondering if the staff had any plans to key Mummy Dust to alignment like most other generic summons are? I'd love to have a 24 hour helper, but undead isn't suited for my character (or most, I suspect).

Regardless, it seems pretty great!

Ah, well all the other general summons are alignment-flavored. Just figured one would not have to be branded a necromancer for a generic epic summon. :blink:

I mean, Epic Gate did used to summon Balors and such, heh.

Gates are non-alignment-specific Conjuration spells that can be used to reach any Plane the spellcaster desires. That they were summoning only demons was a limitation of the vanila game.

There are no plans no, Mummy Dust is as the name describes. That said i may make Dragon Knight down the track.

Why not make Epic Gate also last 24 Hours? might need to Nerf it a little but for an epic summon to only last a fight or two its a huge let down imho

Epic Gate isn't meant to last 24 hours while Mummy Dust is. The Epic Gate summons are meant to be dropped in a particularly troublesome fight to stomp a mudhole in whatever's giving you trouble and they do roughly that, but dissapear shortly after. Mummy Dust is a dedicated summon you can buff out the eyeballs and have operate as a relatively accomplished meat grinder. Making Epic Gate last 24 hours just invalidates the entire point of Mummy Dust, as well as the original point of Epic Gate.

As to IC issues of Necromancy, that's on the individual character as to their choices on how to act morally and ethically. The alternative is to be good at other things instead of relying on summons, I suppose.

That is an intended difference. One is a lot stronger for a short burst the other is weaker for a much longer duration.

Necromancy is normal in Sigil. A whole faction dedicated to undeath and the concept of true death exists. This is not Toril, stop pretending it is.

sorry but 24 hour summon is more powerful then a 2 min summon because you dont waste half your time buffing it to drop it in a fight. Its not any more powerful then lv 9 summon.

But by the stat read out of epic mummy dust it -is- more powerful then gate. Basicly now necromancers get two-three super powerful summons for grinding while any other flavor of caster is left strugling in the same area. I dont agree that we need -more- summons, but, we should offer stuff for good aligned in the same vein.

and thats not a very convincing argument to tell everyone to quit whining about necromancy and just get it your self. Character choices should be meaningful.
