Sigil: City of Doors

I want to talk about what does the staff think if we at least added Sect name tags for players to take on. As a player of a character who belongs to a sect, it's slightly frustrating to not have a tag to show it.

Now, I'm not asking for the other things factions have at all, sects are (by and large) small, rinkydink organizations with almost no presence within Sigil at all. At most, I just want to be able to have my character's sect name show up under the faction listing and have a badge to flash to show other sect members I'm a bro.

That's all.

You can really already claim to be part of a sect and no one's going to bat an eye. 15 factions is already too much of selection, sects only make it even harder for new players especially. You could just use one of those item editor things to make yourself a sect badge too.

The problem with that is it doesn't show an online "presence."

People would be more inclined to play say, a Wylder if they see 2 Wylders on the list.

And no, I don't think it's more "confusing." People seeing 16 different factions who don't know what they're about are likely either not going to bother or just join whatever their friends are. And frankly, most people seeking out a Planescape server are going to already know the faction drill anyways, IMO.

I'd recommend just putting it in your KEMO bio, or make a post in the Player Groups, Sects, Guilds section of the forum. If someone reads it and wants to be a part of what you've got going on, they can contact you about it. Make yourself a macro emote of displaying your badge (or whatever they're identifying themselves with) if you think you'll use it often.

We have 15 Factions*. We don't need Sects to add to that. If you want to say you're a "Wylder", then put a post somewhere in Sects/Guilds and put "Wylder" in your KEMO Bio somehow.


*Frankly, I think we should shake things up a bit, have a mini faction war (non-PvP based, more political; should involve a big event), and combine some of the Factions, really. Topic for another deal though..
