Play a shadow dancer, ranger or assassin easy to get away when you have hips :P

You trod forwards at half speed and all it takes to spot the Hippie is to use two wands of magic on yourself.

short duration and need to know something is there in order to use them. Though keep in mind it is possible to make a character have a hide around 49 before items.

example.

http://nwn2db.com/build.php?id=15639&version=1

hide 49 ms 47 figure in +3 for item stat bonus and then an item +5 or item +10

hide 62 ms 60

could probably make it higher by bard levels though the inspire would alert people when near due to it would enhance their skills as well. or changing veteran to wild child adding more.

Though a wand of silence and darkness....well lets just say that is evil I wuv it.

Elven bard, Listen skill of 64 at level 19.
This is with the wisdom score of 10, without any items improving the skill or having skill proficiency feats.

And thanks to the keen senses the bard gets six chances to beat the opponents Move Silently score per round.

Toss in one level of Shadowdancer and you're a Hippie-Listener.

Without forgetting that the bard has the the ideal spell selection against characters with low will saves /// without immunity to mind effects.

I'm not saying that it would be a bad build. I'm just saying that the Elven Bard would be one of the worst possible matches for this build.

And so it shall always be. Everything has a weakness. Everything.

So feel free to go back and forth with figures ;) there's always a counter and that's by design.

Sillyness and metagaming is my definition for PvP.

But players could try to be more witty in general... -_-

With the level 19 bard we cannot really talk about design. The spell list is as it is and you need to put all those excess skill points somewhere.

Being a shadowdancer does not give you a God-given right to be invisible to everyone, all the time, no matter how much they focus toward detection skills.

Despite what many of them seem to think. :P

ah so you are including the spells. That requires constant casting or a reason to think to cast them.

The shadow dancer build just wanders around with that hide, the bard you list has to boost to see them though they can. It is possible to do so with a lot of builds what you list.

Though as a sneak if someone starts casting those spells you either

1. run away
2. start the battle.

I would cast silence then darkness and just go wack em. (free sneak attacks :D )

In order to get that high listen you mention it requires casting three spells and if the sneak is smart they would be fleeing after the first.

my sneak will be able to move at full speed and will know what you are casting. Also has been hoarding amplify scrolls figure to make wands later.

64? still using two spells. with VERY short duration. While a bard might be able to spot or cast how good of DC spells can a bard get?

hold monster looks best that would be Dc14 +chrisma though you could add in mind fog to incease it by another 10 though a smart rogue runs then.

I would seek scrolls of Superior Resistance they have 24 hour duration basically until rest of +6 saves then cross class spell craft on a rogue.

amplify = 1rnd/level
clair = 1 rnd/ level

very short duration would need to either stun that character quickly or do a lot of damage.

Even though it says will save 10 its technically 13 then you throw in that scroll its 19. If the bard is going to pump up chrisma to make it a more nasty spell they would take blackguard to add to saves and smite though it does not work on evil characters :D

Best I figure would be a cleric/bard mix to use those spells then zap them with a spell.

That 64 would really be from an elven character that has just 19 levels and all of them are bard. If you add the remaining 11 levels then you can reach the Listen skill of 75.

Now, add a helmet with +5 to Listen. You got a listen skill of 80.

And Skill Checks have no automatic success, no automatic failure on the rolls 1 and 20.

Thus:

1d20 + Listen Score = 81-100 is going against 1d20 + Move Silently = 61-80.

Doesn't the ability to jump around as a Hippie seem somewhat redundant?

Bards' also get Dispell Magic Spells. And a scroll with the avarage caster level of 10 is not going to be overly hard to get rid off. Those one round per-caster level spells can be extended and casted several times if needed.

And who would go for something as useless as smite? When the target is paralyzed you just stand next to them and beat them down. And against such low will saves casting the level 2 Hold Persons should be sufficient enough. And the moment you fail the save the bard is going to drop a Mind Fog on you.

And then the Hippie usually logs off.
