sadly I am debating martial prof vs that feat.....

Expose Weakness has two requirements; Evasion and Epic Prowess. Thus, in order to gain it, it is going to cost two Epic Feats and enough levels in a class that grants Evasion.
While Martial Weapon Proficiency takes just one pre-epic feat to get.
For dex-based builds that lack sneak-attack dice, Expose Weakness is a gift from the Upper or Lower Planes. (Depends on how you look at it.)

There's no way to resist this damage AFAIK, no DR will work. Pretty useful I think if you have high DEX.

hmm this build is weird
str 18, dex 20. no weapon finesse.
thing that gets me is the wiki says and another place that expose weakness always hits.... :o
I was pondering the 9d6 sneak attack and 3 elmental weapon more then the dex damage.

it doesn't always hit I think
also, another major (and often overlooked) benefit of it, is that it reduces opponent ac by 3... I've seen players swear to this feat even on non-dex builds because of that

It doesn't always hit (though it hits reliably if you use it coming out of stealth), and it's not that useful if you have low dex (even with the 3 ac debuff, imo). The damage is based on your dex modifier, and applies it over 5 rounds. 30 dex = 10 dex modifier = 50 damage over 5 rounds that cannot be resisted in any way, shape, or form.
It should be noted that the damage stacks. Round 1 you hit them with it, the damage starts ticking. Round two if you get them again, more ticking. Unless it's been changed or I missed something...
It's great to screw over those regeneration-using foes, because it does well to keep up with it. :3

The attack used for Expose Weakness does not inflict a sneak attack. If your first attack flurry has more than one attack, the following attacks of the said flurry inflict the sneak attack as usual.
Thus builds that have insane sneak attack dice and flurry of attacks are usually better-off when not using the Expose Weakness.
And in order for the Expose Weakness attack to "hit" it needs to beat the target's AC and the concealment check.
The damage caused by the 100% hit attack can be reduced by normal means of damage reduction.

Slight addition: Epic Dodge counters Expose Weakness.
But this fact doesn't make the Expose Weakness feat entirely useless against characters that have Epic Dodge. This is because Expose Weakness forces the Epic Dodge of the round to be spend on the Expose Weakness attack.
Going with just the normal attacks there is always the chance to not hit the opponent with your first attack. Thus if the first attack missess and second "hits" then the opponent's Epic Dodge feat will force this second attack to miss.
Thus, statistically, using Expose Weakness enables you to pull more hits on characters with Epic Dodge.
