I'm planning on running a spirit shaman (yeah, I know they suck power-wise, but I don't care) with a certain special deity. Yet, the selection for spirit shaman is quite limited, even more so than the selection druids and rangers can choose from.
So, would it be possible for a DM to change my deity ingame to the one I'd need for my concept, forfeiting the one I'd have to pick at character creation ?

Well I think we'll first need to allow the option for spirit shamans to pick those certain deities, or everytime you level up, you'd have to re-choose the deity from current Spirit Shaman deity list.
So for the time being, you can just decide the deity from druid deity list (as example) and roleplay with spirit shaman to follow that one.

When you take a level of Spirit shaman you'll be forced to pick one of the dieties again anyway.
But, you should be able to get away with roleplaying following a diety without having that as your actual diety. There are a lot of "missing" dieties with the added new ones... but, ya know... nobody can see your sheet but you.

True, I like to keep it neat and clean though, so a DM would know the correct deity when he examines the sheet. And it actualy is one of the 'new' ones, not one of the FR ones that were (rightfuly ;) ) left out.
I think the selection list is a bit narrow as it is of now, but then I might be mistaken.
But thanks for the replies :)

It would also affect the spell recitation. Not.. not that that's a huge deal, or anything.
