If tieflings are allowed to have tails is it possible to have wings? Aasimar or Tiefling?

Nah, neither of those gets wings. Wings can be got only after we get our special race system up and running, and it will be only for races that should have wings.

flying drow? hmm *looks at ranged weapons and spells*. Okay, Flesh to stone at 100 ft should prove comical.

They would technically no longer be "drow" but hey, if the fey-ri can do it... ;)Lost and not Found,Dec 19 2009 wrote: Like the Drow!

What? We're allowed to have flying elves (Avariel) but no flying drow?

...now that somewhat depresses me. I've been playing an Aasimar character, but RPing her as a half-celestial native to Mount Celestia, but stripped of her wings and angelic powers during her limited "exile" to Sigil. The actual half-celstial template does include wings.... I have always assumed that, should RP take her to the appropriate point, her wings may at some point be returned to her. Am I to take it that this would not be allowed? Or might wings be a possible by-product of RP, but not allowable at character creation?wrote:Nah, neither of those gets wings.
This would also conceivably apply to those players who are playing tieflings as half-fiends, of which I know the server does have a few. The half-fiend template also gives bat wings as standard.

Hmm, I don't have an definite answer for that Dedic8ed, but I'd speculate it to be along these lines:
- Characters that are currently roleplayed as races that have wings, will have to submit the "wish form" to admin once we have the system up and running.
- Those that are approved are RPwise "lifted back to grace" or "just get visual support to it".
- Those that are denied are RPwise "fell from grace" or "didn't steal enough lollipops from childs this year".
As to not give an unfair advantage to those who just pick a race and decide they play it compaired to those that are DM approved.

So folks can just decide to rp whatever race they wish on Sigil, and then ask about it later?
That's what is being implied on this thread.

Wouldn't say so, not 'whatever race' at least, but there's always players that take it to themselves to pick a certain route of roleplaying non-gamemechanical race. Always, despite what server you'll play might I add ;) players like to be special, thus it shall always be and I don't judge them, everyone likes to be special, everyone goes with it a bit different way... others play normal to be special.
I generally frown upon trying to roleplay something you just can't have with base tools (lets take this wing case as example, playing a half-fiend without wings - If you want to play one, I think it requires story from player part why it doesn't have wings, and not just expect we DMs give you something because you decided to play it. [not trying to be rude, just reasonable.]) - Unless of course approved by DMs beforehand, but I understand that certain parts requires a bit more liberal usage of RP due to restrictions of game mechanics (scent etc similar things don't come to NWN 2 really).
Now in Sigil it is quite fitting that there are all kinds of odd races, that's kinda what it is known of after all. But one should try to go with something they are able to represent reasonably on my opinion. At the current moment I understand it is quite restricted to a) different colored standard races, b) slight size adjusting
As I can quote from this special race information thread: http://z13.invisionfree.com/nwn2planesc ... wtopic=363
