Yes, but it still does 2d6 damage?

been using tentacles against orcs its funny. Even used them against the salamanders. 3-4 castings to walk through usually is enough to stun one and just watch it die.

as for saves you forget the +6 you get for having spell craft.

so for example

fort 11 +6 (spell craft) +9 (chrisma) =26
ref 17 +6 (spell craft) +9 (chrisma) = 32
will 19 +6 (spell craft) +9 (chrisma) = 34

Items you can add +2 to all and +3 to fort

fort 31
ref 34
wll 36

con boost of item +3 to fort = 34. So yeah its not hard if you use a few items then you can invest the feats into damage. means 25% chance of failure on save roll decrease by 5 per level so figure hit level 4 spells and bellow only 5% chance to fail.

http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Invocation

Tenacious Plague 6th Other Duration: 3 rounds, Special version of Insect plague

Note: the script for this spell is very sloppy. This spell instead of making a cloud AOE effect instead does a 1 time check of all hostiles in the AOE and uses delaycommand to assign damage to each hostile for 3 rounds up to the casterlevel/3 hostiles will be affected. The damage applied is magic 2d6, BUT it must make an attack roll versus FULL AC with a bab of +4. This spell does no damage to a fighter in full plate with a tower shield +2 or better because it could never hit them.

http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Chilling_Tentacles

rather do chilling tentacles. Just spam over and over to do cold damage or getting lucky with stunning things. :D

as for warlock builds I would figure when epic increase blast damage and take eldritch master. Increasing chrisma does not pay off as much.

Figure max out chrisma around 23 add in items and you should have a 55% chance of saving against the worst dc spell I can think of. (level 9). increase that by 5% every level lower you go.

back to familiars what are possible? just curious.

Each of the attacks can cause 2d6 of magic damage. And you gain a new attack per every 3 warlock levels.

Level 30 Warlock deals 20d6 damage in a round, if all ten attacks hit.

Level 27 Warlock deals 18d6 damage in a round, if all nine attacks hit.

Level 24 Warlock deals 16d6 damage in a round, if all eight attacks hit.

The amount of Charisma you got determines the AB these attacks get, in your case with the nine points in Charisma it would be Base bonus; +4, plus the Charisma modifier multiplied by two; 9 x 2. 22 in total.

Since it is an Attack Bonus, you get the 1d20 to see whether you hit something or not. Rolling a one is an automatic fail while the 20 is success.

And to get more out of the Charisma modifier there is always the option to go for couple of Blackguard levels, but you will loose some of the Warlock bonus feats that way - while gaining more melee damage (Divine Might) and the Charisma Modifier x2 to your saves (Dark Blessing and Dark One's Own Luck).

Erm, I think I need to take back some of my earlier words. Warlock is indeed, quite cheesy. :(

But, if there is someone who can and wants role-play a character that is highly charismatic, manipulative and selfish bastard out there to betray everyone - Warlock with some Blackguard and Shadowdancer might be the ideal RP character for you.

Just imagine your Character Summoning masses of biting and stinging insects to hurt your foes.

Also, I see no reason why you couldn't have these both invocations. Higher Charisma would improve the DC for your Chilling tentacles. (10 + Charisma Modifier + 5(From Chilling Tentacles))

As a side notice, Druid's get similar spell to the Warlock's Tenacious Plague. It is called Creeping Doom and it works with Wisdom modifier instead that of Charisma. One of the few druid spells that would be better when used by a High Wisdom Spirit Shaman. (No need for Charisma modifier. ^_^)

blackguard stacks with warlock.... :o

Tempting if hideous blows quit blowing so hideously. Though would not take much to max out saves then....hmmm. chrisma 27 add in +5 item. ==modifer 11. 11*2 +6 +12 = 40

will have to take plague next that sounds fun. "Bump in the night" is my warlock build ;) bard/sd/warlock/hellfire.

any build can be considered cheesy. Question is not what is built but what is Rped. *nod nod*

We got the Warlock Buddy here on this server. Hideous blow works as it should. But you need to activate it first.

Hit "F" it should be the hotkey for the quickcast menu. From there you should notice an additional button. Click that and it should open the Buddy-window where you can control the invocations to some extent.

Regrding the class summons,

Cleric's Death domain's Negative Plane Avatar cannot be compared to the Animal Companion of the Animal Domain.

From quick testing it would seem the Shadowdancer's shadow would be the same as the Negative Plane Avatar one. (Not including the Shadow Mastiff from levels 8th-11th.)
