Anyway, my point is that there is plenty of conflict in large or small places.  I have not really played with you much so I apologize for not drawing you into any of the conflicts.  If you are looking for more conflict, make some.  If you don't want to jeopardize Marek, that's okay.  Make a gutter rat that you know is going to be caught picking the wrong person's pocket.  Create a madwoman and have her accuse someone of killing her husband.  Get people into positions where they have to choose a side and watch what follows.

I most wholeheartedly disagree with the above. That sort of hidden evil should drop hints at being found, leave clues and as such actually draws the thicker of the population into the story. I'm sorry, but every good villain I've seen on a pvp server, allows for some sort of conflict between them and the protagonists at some point or another. It's usually a continued one, wherein the evil flees the scene, he leaves the protagonists to their death writhing in pain, etc...whatever the reason is, use your imagination.

Marek sees plenty of conflict and "evil", just nothing that would take hold to actually PvP with. That's what this whole post is about right? Why PvP would happen?

Despite that, I wouldn't give any further information about Marek on here...the statement that Marek hasn't met anyone that could scare him was rather ambiguous anyhow. Kind of a joke on the whole thing.

Now if you're speaking of a 'covert plot' wherein the antagonist is never seen...

Well hey, again, this is why I haven't seen any truly evil characters that could turn Marek running in fear down a street tripping into a muddy puddle or the like.

I'm sorry Aidelynn, perhaps you haven't RPed with me enough. Marek creates more conflict around him than he should, just by mere presence. The ones that know could tell you on here. All I'm pointing out is that...there's nothing open about this evil to PvP with.

Anyhow, I stand with the other three points I posted on the matter even if there's plenty of PvP worthy conflict going around that I'm just not seeing. Otherwise it's rare, and I think it won't happen until the rift between levels is gapped up into the higher ones, and people feel more 'secure' in PvP. You give too much credit to the ones that actually want to PvP that they'll role play it in full with taking the other person's viewpoint of the matter into consideration.

Its is my view, that...given the costs of PvP on dying, particularly to the high level players that for OOC honour/friendship, depending on who has initiated etc, the loser is raised, anyone intent on PvPing would carry a scroll and do the honorable and the loser return the favour by playing the death/unconciousness or whatever out after the raise.

My two pennies. And I am not willing to be on any list for inclusion or exclusion. I will still send tell for consent should I feel the need to PvP/CvC or whatever with my char. :)

For the record, I would definitely PvP if it fit my characters' ideals to. So if someone is doing something really worthy of getting their butt smaked around a bit (or attempted butt-smacking...in case I lose) then they'll get just that. It'll always be done in an RP fashion. After all it's an RP server. And bejeezus...it's Sigil for power's sake! :banghead:   :( :) :D :respect:

Actually, I'll I really needed to say is...

Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB

There's no possible way of a universal rating system to say what each of us sees.
In other words; each of us has a different view point on what we experience.

So with that in mind...
Those that want to PvP, go ahead and do so, the server permits it.
Very cool if you find the conflict that sets it in RP for you.
Those that don't...well just don't.

No need to turn this into an action server by signing up for PvP just to fight.
If the situation permits it, I'd say just follow through with it.

What's that saying again?

The best thing in a game is to win.
The second best is to lose.
The worst is not being able to play at all.

:P
